WHY TURKISH?

Turkish is a harmonic monument and a national treasure that our poets and writers have been using for centuries. There are various personal, institutional and international relationships among people, societies and nations. To maintain a healthy relationship in the areas like science, politics, recruitment, education, tourism, culture, art, trade and communication, it is necessary to learn an international language other than the native language. Learning a second language means becoming a new person. For all these reasons and the increasing demand for Turkish Education for foreigners, Turkish Universities took the initiatives to start Turkish Education for foreigners. Turkish should not just be considered as the language of education. It is among the few literary and aesthetic languages of the world. Besides, we started this program for the ones who want to be closely acquainted with Turkish culture and language.

LEARNING PERIOD

It lasts about 36 weeks and 950 hours in total.

PURPOSE

At the end of this course, people attendants will be able to speak Turkish fluently, lead their lives in Turkey without encountering any problems about language, understand the terms in their departments and understand and join the conversations among their friends.

ADVICE FROM INSTRUCTORS

There is a misconception about Turkish as being a difficult language to learn because of its grammatical structure and some sounds (ö, ğ, ü, ş and so on). However, one could be a good speaker and listener on the condition that all the requirements and assignments given are fulfilled and enough practice is done.
